“How do I know AskMandla is a legitimate company who won’t take my 450 and run?”

Lee-Ann, before she signed up · Gauteng

Two weeks later she had two workers on formal contracts, and she told us we could publish this.

Workers never pay for their contract, their UIF admin or their payslips. No lock-in contract, no cancellation-notice ladder, no percentage fees on top.

Why one flat fee, and not by the hour

An accountant or an HR bureau bills by the hour or by the case, so a complicated month earns them more. We charge the same R49 whether your month is simple or complicated, so the simpler we make this, the better we do. That is the whole business model, and it is why we would rather automate a form than send you one.

How the month works

One top-up in, one payday out.

You top up your wallet by the 22nd, her salary + the UIF amounts + our R49. We pay her on the 25th and send her payslip. If your own salary lands on the 25th, we set her payday to the 1st instead. One reliable payment, every month, that reliability is what lets her open an account, build a record, and plan.

Every worker paid on the 25th, payslip and all
Why is the service monthly only?
A fixed monthly salary into a bank account, with a payslip, is what builds a worker’s financial record, accounts, credit, UIF claims. Weekly cash builds none of that. It also keeps the contract, the UIF declarations and the payslips telling one consistent story. And the financial products that serve domestic workers, including those of our partners, are today mostly built around monthly payroll, so a monthly rhythm is what unlocks them for her. That may change as the market grows, and we will move with it when it does.
What happens if I cancel?
You stop at the end of the month, no notice ladder. Your records stay yours; we hand everything over on WhatsApp.
Are there any other fees?
No. R49 monthly per worker and the R450 once-off setup are the only AskMandla amounts on your wallet top-up. The rest is her salary and the legally required UIF contributions, shown line by line.
