Frequently asked questions
They’ve been with us for years. Is it too late to start?
No. We onboard long-standing working relationships every day. The contract reflects the real start of the relationship, and the UIF admin is processed from now on. Starting late is far better than another year informal.
What if they don’t want to be “on the system”?
Most workers want this once they see what it gives them: a payslip, UIF in their name, proof of income for a bank or landlord. Share the worker page with them, it’s written for them.
Am I locked into anything?
R49 per worker per month, month-to-month. Cancel anytime. The employment relationship itself follows the BCEA, that law already applies to every household, with or without us.
Will registering get me inspected?
Registering is what puts you right. Inspections happen to households with no records; with AskMandla your contract, UIF admin and payslips are exactly what an inspector asks to see.
How does payday actually work?
You top up your AskMandla wallet by the 22nd, enough for their salary, the UIF amounts and our R49. They are paid by EFT on the 25th and get their payslip on WhatsApp. If your own salary only lands on the 25th, we set payday to the 1st instead, one reliable payment either way.
Are you a small business?
Cafes, shops, guesthouses and small teams run the same admin, without an HR department. We do that too.
