To sign up for AskMandla you need a smartphone with WhatsApp and a few basic details about yourself and your worker. The main things are ID or passport numbers, a photo of the ID or passport, the worker's start date, their working days and hours, and their salary. There is no paperwork to fill in and nothing to download. Either the employer or the worker can start the process, and we contact the other person to collect what is missing.
What you'll need before starting
For the employer
- A smartphone with WhatsApp
- Your full name and ID or passport number
- A photo or copy of your ID or passport
- The name and phone number of your employee
- Your employee's start date
- Their weekly working days and hours
- Their salary (hourly, weekly, or monthly)
- Your physical address (where your employee works)
- Your email address (optional, but recommended)
For the employee
- Full name and ID or passport number
- A photo or copy of ID or passport
- Phone number (WhatsApp preferred)
- Job title (for example nanny, cleaner, or gardener)
- Home address (where you live)
- Any alternate contact (a family member, for example)
- Their consent to join the AskMandla system
- Banking details
What we'll help you create
Once we have collected the info, we will:
- Generate a legally compliant employment contract
- Handle your employee's UIF admin (if needed)
- Handle your employee's COIDA (Compensation Fund) admin (if needed)
- Track leave and attendance
- Create payslips each month
- Help you pay your employee legally and on time
Can I sign up without my employee's input?
Yes. You can start the process as the employer, and we will contact your employee to collect their details and get their signature. Your employee can also start the process first, and we will reach out to you.
Is my information secure?
Yes. We use secure cloud systems and never share your personal or financial information without your permission. Your contracts and payslips are stored safely and can be accessed any time.
