How billing works: salary, subscription, and fees

Reviewed July 2026 · Pay & wages

AskMandla bills you once a month with a single invoice. That invoice combines three things: your worker's full salary as agreed in the contract, any UIF and other deductions, and the AskMandla subscription fee. You pay it in one go by EFT, with no extra fees. We then pay your worker, send their payslip, and handle the admin. The subscription is R49 a month, plus a once-off R450 onboarding fee when you first sign up. One invoice, one payment, no hidden costs.

What the employer pays each month

Each month, AskMandla sends you a single invoice that includes:

1. Your employee's full salary, as agreed in the contract

2. UIF and other deductions, if applicable

3. AskMandla's monthly subscription fee

When you pay

You receive your monthly invoice near the start of the month, before payday. You then make one easy payment by EFT, which carries no extra fees. We confirm once your payment is received.

What AskMandla does with your payment

We take care of everything for you:

1. We pay your employee on your behalf via EFT

2. We send them their payslip on WhatsApp

3. We handle all leave, attendance, and deduction tracking

4. We process your UIF admin, if you have asked us to

5. We store all your records for easy access

One invoice. One payment. All sorted.

What the subscription fee includes

AskMandla charges a once-off onboarding fee of R450 when you sign up, and then a monthly subscription of R49 per month.

The monthly service fee covers:

  • Generating and storing your employment contract
  • Tracking leave, sick days, and overtime
  • Creating payslips and recording payments
  • Sending notifications and reminders via WhatsApp
  • Labour law compliance support
  • Help with your UIF admin, including monthly submissions

It works like having an HR manager, for a fraction of the cost.

Example: a monthly billing breakdown

Say your domestic worker earns R3,500 a month. Your invoice would look like this:

  • Employee salary: R3,500
  • Employer UIF (1%): R35
  • AskMandla subscription: R49
  • Total invoice (EFT): R3,584

You only pay once, and we take care of everything else.

What happens if you don't pay

If your payment is not received:

  • Your employee will not receive their salary
  • Their payslip and UIF will not be processed
  • Your AskMandla subscription may be paused

We always send reminders, but your payment must reflect by the due date on the invoice.

Where to get your invoice

We send your invoice to you via WhatsApp and email. You can also request a copy at any time.
